Rosenie is one of our seamstresses at Three Cords. In the workshop, you will find her continually brightening up the atmosphere with her huge smile, heart full of joy, and beautiful singing voice.
Rosenie grew up in a suburb of Port-au-Prince with her parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Her family members were not believers and did not attend church regularly. However, at the age of 13, Rosenie was invited by a friend to attend a church service, and it was there that she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.
Growing up, Rosenie experienced many trials and much loss. When she was only 15 years old, her father passed away from a serious illness, bringing hardship on her family’s ability to support themselves. In the earthquake of 2010, Rosenie lost her leg when the walls of her church collapsed upon her. Then, in 2014, Rosenie’s mom passed away from a sickness. Throughout all the hurt and pain she has experienced, Rosenie continues to keep her eyes on Jesus and hold steadfastly to the hope, joy, and peace that is found in Him.
She elaborates: “I am part of the Body of Christ. I trust in Him. He is my confidence. He will never leave me alone in any situation. Jesus will always be with me. Thank you, Jesus.”
This trust and confidence Rosenie has in her Healer and Redeemer is very evident in her everyday demeanor. She continually exuberates an aura of deep-rooted joy and passionate faith in Jesus, whether she is interacting with the other ladies or making flower pins.
Rosenie currently lives in Tabarre village with her uncle and cousins. When she is not working, she likes to rest and clean her home. She also loves going to church and singing in the choir there.
