Daphnee is a seamstress at Three Cords. She is from the deaf community in Leveque village. She loves the chance to work with other deaf employees. She actually helped some of her deaf friends find a job with Three Cords, so they can support themselves.
Daphnee grew up in Port-au-Prince with her parents. She went to school through 7th grade, her favorite subjects were math and grammar. After the earthquake, she moved to Leveque with many other deaf people who began forming a community there. She currently lives there with her boyfriend. They have a 4-year-old daughter who lives with Daphnee’s parents in Port-au-Prince.
In her free time, Daphnee loves going to church. She finds it is a great place to connect with both family and Jesus. She also loves reading the Bible in order to learn more about God.
When she is not working at Three Cords, Daphnee would like to use her time to start her own business and sell products in order to earn a secondary income.
Daphnee loves working at Three Cords because she loves making bags and supporting her family. She also finds that working here encourages her spiritual life in Jesus.
